Going Simple
Alright fellas, a little back round, I bought the truck in November 2006 a week after my return from my first deployment to Iraq. After I purchased the truck I started to realize that it is not as nice as I thought. I'll just say I have found wood screws in just about every area of the truck. Since I was 12 the 64-66 C10's have been my dream vehicle.
When I first got it I lowered 3" all around, and put new wheels and tires. It has a old 383 and th400. As for my plans Im going to keep it real simple, no power brakes, no power steering, no heat, no ac (my wife does not like that one) disc brakes in the front, lowered with 2"coils and 2.5 spindles, in the back it will be 3" coils and 2" blocks. Stock bumpers, trim, grille etc all chrome, paint is going to be silver with top half of cab white. bed will be oak and stips and rest of bed will be rhino lined. 355 or 383 crate, engine compartment will be all back. interior will be all back, with buckets. All fasteners, bushings and mounts will be replaced. Thats pretty much it. Pic 1: how it sat a few months ago Pic 2: how the truck sits now (08 JULY 10) I do have a couple questions, what is the best way to brake rivets, where can I go to press out the lower ball joints, in what situation would i have to replace the upper and/or lower a arm shafts, and has any one delt with POL front disc brake kits? |
