TOO HOT; staying inside............................
I've decided to stay inside and hang out in this section. Dont know how far it will go but I'm enjoying all the other projects I see on here. I'm trying to get finished with a project I started in 2001. 1/12th scale Camaro. I went way overboard with the details and had to build other stuff along the way to improve my skills. A learning experience, no doubt...but that is why it's taken so long to get to this point.
Sorry, it's not a truck, but if it goes well I will resurrect a truck and do that on this thread too. The Camaro has been lowered with real springs, all lines plumbed, and wired as if it had a fuel injected smallblock. 1/12th scale stuff is hard to find so I used 1/10th scale wheels which give it the 'on 22's' look. The trans has real metal shift rods, the rearend has brake hardlines and u-bolts bent from metal. I used some photoetch pieces for details and added stereo components. I built my fictional injection on top of the real intake manifold and added linkage, sensors, and rubber booted injection plugs. I fabbed a cooling shroud with electric fans and a fan controller. The ignition is wired just as a real car would be from this era. Anyway, this gives you the background and now some pics for you to catch up on. Many of the details are hard to capture.......
