New from New York...64' C20
Hello fellow Chevy truckers,
My name is Marco I live in Long Island NY, I recently acquired the long time object of my desire 1964 Chevy C20 "Custom Camper" It's been sitting in upstate NY for more time then I care to admit. Since that time she developed some issues. But I rebuilt the 292 motor and she now runs like a sewing machine. Cool story behind the truck, I worked as a motorcycle mechanic and it belonged to my mentor, I was a young kid and in love with the truck, and would beg him to buy it just about everyday. Originally it belonged to his neighbor who bought it new in 64' then then sold it to my mentors father, until he he passed it down to his son. Finally he decided the truck needed a new owner and he flat out gave it to me. Needless to say i have some work ahead of me but nevertheless, I'll have it looking new in no time. Ive found alot of good info on this site, and hope I could add some more. Im a fabricator, and motorcycle builder so Im sure those skills will come in handy with the truck. As it sits now Im in need of a maual trannny...so if anyone could point me in the right direction of what I could easily bolt in Id appreciate the info. Ive heard that an S-10 5 speed will mate right up, can anyone confirm this? -Marco Last edited by Marco.Creep; 08-09-2010 at 10:00 PM. |
