Brake Pedal Question : 54 Chevy Pickup

I've got a 54 Chevy pickup with rear manual drum brakes (fronts are disc) ... if I grab the brake pedal on my truck with my hand and wiggle it left and right it rattles against the hole in the floorboard ... it also has a wear spot on the top side of the shaft from rubbing on the hole in the floor board and sometimes hangs up at that spot.

Is there a fix for this?

RB's Auto sells a "Bumper Brake Pedal Shank" that "rides under the floor board" -- is this what I need?

Thanks.
