Can I change my socks?
The sock on the end of my gas sending unit was totally worn out so I just tore (actually it fell off). Right now I don't have a sock on the end but someone posted that this leads to terrible fuel pump problems. Is the sock replaceable?Will the metal ring the sock mounts to slide off or is it soldered or press fit? Will I have fuel pump problems without it? I haven't fired her up yet so was just checking first.
