Need Distributor help Please!

Hi again all,

So I think the engine is ok and I did not cook it. I refilled with new oil and coolant and there is no cross-contamination but I have one more issue. I marked the distributor in 2 places but I think I may have reinstalled it incorrectly since it idles rough and won't rev very high. So another newbie question - how do I re-align it. I can take it off and try again but I am assuming there is a process I can follow other than just shooting in the dark. Thanks again for all of the help. This intake manifold gasket job has turned into a bit of nightmare. I appreciate all of the guidance.
