frame question... put up or shut up

Ok here we go.... I am working on my 68 burb. I bagged it a couple of months ago pulled it out of the garage... it was not low enough. So back into the garage, call nate for the rear and start to do a little trimming and stuff up front for another inch or two up front. Here is the question... do I pull the frame out from under this thing and clean and detail it all up while its on jack stands and torn apart? My worries is the snow ball effect... it has already started to happen but I think I can nip it in the bud now.
What would you do? Rear end is out, ta crossmember, tranny crossmember. The truck is or shall I say was a driving big block burb.
HELP!!!
