rebuilding Transfer Case

I am finally getting started on my 70 Blazer. Just had a question or two about the drivetrain. I will be rebuilding the engine and tranny soon and would like to know if you can rebuild the transfer case? And where is the best place to get these parts (for the transfer case)

Next question. I have a closed knuckle front axel in it now. I also have an open knuckle out of a 72 Blazer in the shop. What all in involved in swapping the two? Is it worth the effort? Will the turning radius improve?

If I do the axel swap I will swap the rear end too. The 72 Blazer had a 4 inch lift. So, I will have to get BIGGER tires (Yee-Haw). I think I can get the wife to go for that LOL.
