Stupid mistake!
I am still in the process of putting new heads on my 350. After i got both heads put on, torqued down to 65 ft. lbs, and my intake torqued down, i noticed that i put the wrong head on the wrong side. While i know that SBC heads are identical for either side, one of my heads had a plug in the tempertuare sending unit hole, and i put it on the driver's side, and the head w/o the plug on the passenger side. The plug has proably been in the head since it was casted in 1969 or 1970, and i tried to get it out with no luck. So, it looks like i am without a place to put my temp sending unit. I notcied that my intake manifold had a plug in it going into the coolant passages. Could i remove the plug and put it in the intake? I would simply put the sending unit on the passenger side head, but my temp. guage is mechanical, and the wire won't reach that far, but i think it will reach to the intake.
Thanks for any help.
