MonoJet Questions!!
hey guys
im new to this site and new to my classic chevy! i just rebuilt my rochester monojet m.e. on my 78 cheyenne 292 and im having some tuning issues being as i am only 20 and the truck is well older then i am i figured id be smart to ask the pros.. It seems to be chewing through fuel more then before i rebuilt it so i imagine its running a little rich but at the same time when i take off or make a sharp right cornor or am traveling at over 100 it starts starving for fuel! i set my floats low and my metering rod is a little high! if i lower my metering road will i lean it out a bit and will that take care of my starving issue or should i raise my floats aswell.. i have the specs for the carb im about 1/32 high on the metering rod and 1/16 low on the floats.. will the specs that came with the rebuild kit be best or does anyone have any better settings? But being as i bought the truck for 500 bucks and spent the same getting it road worthy i must say im really impressed.. will post pictures soon.. thanks guys! |
