Question Simple front bag setup-Some opinions and help?

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas!
I had some questions about bags as I do not know much at all about them, I've read a lot but most set ups are full air ride laying frame or something. I'm thinking of a much simpler set up so here goes....
Can someone school me on what would be a good idea, pros and cons, /plan/work/cost for putting some bags up front on my 2wd 1980 rcsb?
I was thinking of doing a 4/6 but with the LS oil pan and terrible roads in MA, I was thinking adjustability may be the better option? What do you think? Whats a good, simple set up? I keep hearing about schrader valves? I already have a flip kit for the rear and DJM 3in drop spindles for the front.
Thanks for any help!
