NEED Some guidance

I have a 1968 C20 3/4 ton 292 engine. I replaced the water pump and turned in the core bofore I found I had a problem. The water pump pully only lines up with the altinator pully. The main crank is duil pully. The water pump pully is 1 1/4 inches short of lineing up with the inside crank pully. The preveus owner admitted doing some compermising when replcesing ether the altinator of the water pump prevouisly. I would say it was the altinator. The main crank only runs the water pump and the altinator. What He did was cause the bearing in the water pump to fail by not haveing the pullys lined up rite in the first place. Finding a shallower water pump pully would work. Duil pully on the altinator will not work. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOLKS This is a very collectible engine and junk yards KNOW IT. THANKS
