'77 Ignition key lock removal

Did like the manual says:
Remove steering wheel and turn signal switch
Place cylinder lock in run position
Place small screw driver into rectangular column housing slot? Which one? It says to keep the screwdriver to the right side of the slot and to break the flashing away.
Then use the screw driver to depress the spring clip on the end of the cylinder and remove it.

I am confused. I just can't seem to find the rectangular slot they are referring to. I guess I could just punch the flashing out of all the rectangular slots in there close to the end of the cylinder...LOL!

Anyone done this before?

Thanks
