Restored my console...

Big thanks to both hotrodhomi for the great deal on the console and Sharpie for the finishing touches!

It was in great shape to begin with (no cracks or holes), but dirty and blue with rust on the trim and ashtray. I cleaned her up with some tsp, and painted it a satin black. I used rustoleum...I know everyone says to use to a vinyl dye type of paint, but I went with rustoleum for ease of touch ups since I can go almost anywhere to get the paint again down the road if/when it sratches.

Just gotta build the box to go underneath it. I plan to build a short box with a sliding drawer for a little bit of a hidden storage. In the pictures its about 4" off the floor. At this hieght, I can sort of use it as an arm rest, but I lean over a little to the right.

PS...didn't realize I didn't have the cables for the lid...you got any of those Sharpie?
