Transfer case adapter seal replacement help!
I think I have a leaking seal between the transmission and transfer case.
The tranny is a SM465 (I think) (4 speed w/granny gear) and the transfer case is NP205. I pulled the speedometer gear drive last night to remove a broke cable and oil seeped out. The transfer case oil level was slightly above this. I have read there are two seals located inside the transfer case, and then I saw reference to an o-ring. Is the o-ring only on automatics? I didn't see it in the parts diagram. Has anyone seen the oil seal replacement illustrated online? I have seen great write ups on transfer case rebuilding but nothing on replacing the oil seals. Does anyone have the specks on the oil seal and o-ring. Thanks. |
