Door help?

I am working on my 56, and I just pulled the doors off,
( Broke them off ). I think only 2 or 3 of the bolts came out, the rest broke. I know they sell the patch where the lower hing bolts on, but what do I do about the upper. The broken bolts are in the door to deep to drill out and use an easy out or re thread. I think getting different doors may be the best optoin, but also looking for a way to fix these. If I cut open the door to access the area I might be able to make and weld in a new plate to bolt the hings to. Has anyone done this. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.
