I also find it helps when the machine shop orders you the correct head bolt kit, not one from a 6.0 pre-2000 where the head bolts are 1.5" too long for my 2004 LS motor.
One of their guys drove across town tonight after work to bring me my motor pieces (including flexplate) that they forgot to bring me the other night. I think, ok no problem....but they didn't bring me the flexplate bolts! Now I find out the bolts for the heads are wrong too! Oh, and not to mention they wrecked my camshaft position sensor too when they loaded the motor onto the delivery truck... More delays...
