torque specs & sequence & uprgades

I am putting an edelbrock intake to conver a 92 suburban 350 block to carb. Now is that block considered an LT1? What is the torque amount and sequence for the intake bolts. I have bad luck with intakes i always torque too much and always break the bolts. So if anyone knows of a good how to to make sure i am doing it right i would really appreciate it. Also any upgrades i should probably do while i have the engine out....
