Bird pooped on my hood, clear coat is gone??

I came home today and decided to handwash and wax my '84 K10. I backed it out of the shop and noticed that a bird had got in there and pooped on my hood!! The poop couldnt have been on the hood more than 24hrs because I washed the truck at the carwash yesterday evening. Well, it's just bird poop, no big deal. I proceed to hand wash the truck. I chamois dry it off and notice that the clear coat is dulled where the poop was. Thought it was just residue because I dont scub the paint very hard. Well, it wouldn't come off!! So my first attempt was Meguire's Cleaner wax.....no good there. My next step up was Meguire's Ultimate Compound/Polish......that's didn't work either. Lastly I stepped up to a full polishing compound......that didn't remove it either. So, can anyone tell me how bird sh%#t ate thru my clear coat??? What the hell was this little avian bandit eating when he accosted my paint job that could have ate thru my clear? He was obviously a Ford lover!!!
Here is a pic of the hood.....see the dull spot.
