55 Chevy 3100 1/2 ton chevelle rear swap
Hi, Guys I have a question on a 69-78 Chevelle Rear end I am installing in my 55 Chevy 3100 second series truck. I installed a camaro front. I got a great deal from a friend so I had to take it, I wanted to keep the rear a camaro so as to not get confused when I need to order parts, keeping things consistent.
I installed the rear end on my stock rear leaf springs. This Chevelle has some bushings towers on the top of the rear end for a stabilizer. my plan is to use the stock arms and mount a bracket to the frame with the rear leaf springs.Has any one done this with stock leaf springs? or should I just cut the bushing towers off, and just use the stock springs. Also how is the ride with the stock springs and the camaro? here are some pictures of what I am up against. Thanks -Larry |
