Straightening slightly overbent U bolt - how??

One of the new U bolts for the coil rear on my 70 is slightly overbent on one side. How would I go about straightening it enough so I can get through the pads on the axle (or at least hold it open to get it on)? It's about 1/8"-1/4" bent in too much on one side. It doesn't look like a BFH would do it. I can get pics soon if it would help.
