how do i do this? please help.

OK guys I'm trying to figure out how to order my rear wheels. I have a 68 rear end with c6 z06 brakes. My truck has a PB trailing arm set up to lay a 32 inch tall tire. I would like to run 24X12 with a 6+ inch lip. Do I order my wheels and have the rear end shortened after or do I shorten the rear end first? I realize that those calipers need a lot of clearance, besides the stock z06 wheels are there wheels.with that much caliper clearance? Or do I have to run adapters / spacers? Thanks for your help...
