'67 inside door opener update

in 10-10 i posted about not being able to find an inside door [remote] opener for a '67. only '68-up. so, being the hot rodder that i am.... i ordered a driver side for a '68-up. i found the part to be the same, except the groove for the 'C' clip was closer to the door, whereas the '67 was farther to the end of the shaft. i chucked the opener in a cross vise. put a small cut-off wheel in my drill press. figured out where the new groove was to be[ there is room], figured the depth. i simply drove around the shaft. after installing the new opener, i worked great. nice to have a handle which returns to the correct position.
hope this will help someone with a '67.
