a little help for my 70, suspension
I got this truck a couple of weeks ago and been getting it road worthy. My issue is has a bit of a stink bug look that Id like to minimize or get rid of. I found a 4" lift and put it on the and as it turns out it already had a 4" lift on it. They way i see it to level the wheel well openings I need the front to come up about an inch and a half. If I want the hood to be level with the bed I need to bring the front up 3 inches. Yet that would put more wheel space on the front...which might look weird.
I got only a few questions...your assistance and guidance is much appreciated. 1. Is a leaf lift with fewer but thicker leafs a rougher ride? The newer leaf lift I put on has 6 leafs but they are thinner as opposed to the 5 thicker leaf units I replaced. 2. Whats the cheapest safe way to lift the front? Relocate the rear leaf mounts? a rear shackle kit? have the springs recurved? 3. Im guessing the consensous will be re arch the springs...will that give me a rougher ride. I like soft things. Let me know what you think. All input is welcome and appreciated. BTw these are 33s and I have 35s and weld wheels to put on it. Just wanted to get the lift issue solved and alighened before I put on the 35s.
