'70 Steering Column--rebuild or buy new?
I knew it needed work, but a closer inspection last night showed the column needs EVERYTHING--it's amazing anything works on it. It's an automatic column shift, non-tilt.
Neutral safety switch, horn parts, turn signal parts, flasher knob, bearings, etc. etc. I'm thinking it may be more cost effective to just get a new or rebuilt column. Is anyone familiar with this economy model listed in Classic Performance Products? Looks like Ecklers has the same thing as well for about the same price. Non-original, but I'm not concerned with that. As long as it bolts up and can hold up for the 300-500 miles per year I generally drive it, it'll be fine. Any opinions on these? http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...6772EPSC-S.htm |
