EVAP canister ?

i cant seem to find a diagram of where all of the EVAP canister hoses go to, and what they all do. there is one that goes to a solenoid/valve looking thing mounted to the top of my alternator bracket, which then goes into the PCV hose. cna i just run this one straight to the PCV hose, and elimate the valve? im looking to eliminate as many of the lines as i can, while still retaining the proper venting for my fuel system. i dont want to plug anything that's going to screw with that. any help is appreciated.
