'70 Buick Skylark GS 455/4-speed
I always have a 73-87 Chevy pickup as a daily driver, but this car is what most of my money gets dumped into.
I bought it as my first car about 7 Years ago, I was 15 years old and wanted a muscle car. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was a 350/Th350 wit ha straight body, little bit of rust in the quarters, fenders, and the trunk was shot. Ran and drove awesome, Interior was a 6 out of 10 with factory buckets and console shift, all black. Drove it around for 2 years, decided I wanted a '93 Mustang (DUMBASS!!), so I bought one. Parked the buick, and decided to rebuild the original 350 in my Engines class my Senior year of high school. Shortly after I graduated High school, I found a screamin deal on a pair of 455 Big Blocks, one for parts, and I got to listen to the other one run for 300$. Was just going to drop in the 455 in place of the 350 for the hell of it, one thing led to another, and I now have a completely rebuilt 455 shortblock in my garage with around 5k invested. Somewhere along the lines I also decided a four-speed would be more fun, and installed a set of pedals, 4-speed floor hump, new carpet, etc. Its been a long time since I have gotten to even drive the car, tinkering with it on and off. Rebuilt the rear end, all new suspension, repainted the frame and underhood areas. The list goes on and on. Here are a few shots of the car, the most recent is the one with the GS Hood I picked up a few months ago. |
