Sway Bar Question?

Hey, kinda new to the website, and I have a couple of questions.
I have a '72 Chevy Cheyenne Super stepside (can't figure out how to post pic) and I want to put a swaybar on it. Can't seem to find the correct one localy, but I did find a massively thick one on a 77 c20. Would this work? The mounts measure about the same distance apart. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I have an oppurtunity to buy a complete A.C. system off of a truck (except the compressor) at a junkyard, should I get it for about 100.00??
Last question for now, I want to convert to the under the bed gas tank, also have an oppurtunity to buy a tank off of a Blazer, but it has a good 2 inch hole in the side. They want 25.00 for it, without a sending unit. I've got a guy who can weld it up for 20.00. Are metal tanks better or are plastic, or is that an opinion question?
