House Plumbing - water leak
Gentlemen -
I'm on about my 4th or 5th iteration trying to fix this plumbing leak. The situation is related to an outside hose bib; there's a section of black flexible pipe, which transitions to a white plastic push in fitting, then to the copper. It's leaking right at the black pipe/push in fitting. First thing I noticed was the old hose clamp was rusty and nasty, so I cut it off and replaced it with a new clamp and torqued it down. No good. Next up - let's try TWO hose clamps, right? No good. So - somewhere in there I decided to try the copper colored permatex RTV and let it set up overnight (24 hours) - still no good. What's the professional way to fix this? Do I need heat to soften up the black plastic?
