Restored 64-66 V8 Tach Gauge Cluster SUPER Detailed
I'm selling my restored/detailed factory Sun V8 tach gauge cluster since the 100 mph speedo and 5K tach won't be able to keep up with my trucks planned LSx build. I'm having a 140 mph speedo and 10K tach built to go in another cluster I have so I don't need the stock one anymore.
The odometer has been set to 99,999 miles, ready to roll over to 00,000. I can set the mileage to match your truck's mileage if you want. The odometer does work, checked by spinning the speedometer input shaft and checking for rotation of the odometer gear shaft. The needles for all of the gauges have been repainted the correct florescent orange, using a pinstriping brush for a very even finish. The individual gauge faces have been restored by using vinyl decals with the original font style and colors. The intermediate background plate was wetsanded and repainted satin black, and the red "OVER SPEED" and "TAND'M LOCK" warning light lenses are new (my own reprodution). The green turn signal lenses are very nice original peices that have been thoroughly cleaned to appear as new. The gauge bezel is an original piece, not an ill-fitting reproduction. I bead blasted it, and the rough casting flash around the edges was removed and smoothed with a D/A sander. Then it was primed, wetsanded smooth, and painted. The bezel does not have the typical extreme "sag" around the bottom center screw hole like most bezels do. The plastic lens is a new reproduction piece that has been buffed front and back for better clarity. Dense foam rubber anti-rattle bumpers were installed between the lens and bezel just as the factory did to eliminate rattles. The original wiring is in very good condition and all of the bulbs are new. The metal frame for the cluster was bead blasted inside and out and repainted. The outside was clearcoated as the factory did, and the interior was painted the original green color. All of the original interior lighting tubes are present and in good condition. *** I have not been able to check the working condition of the gauges themselves since my truck is apart. The internals of the gauges show no signs of damage, or any reason that they would not work, and the needles all move freely and smoothly. I was going to use this in my own truck as is until I decided to build an LSx engine for it. Sold as is, no gaurentees that the gauges work. *** The gauge cluster will be bubble wrapped and double boxed with packing between the boxes to prevent any damage while being shipped. It will be shipped USPS Priority with tracking and insurance. $550 shipped inside USA.
