flywheel issues

Can any one tell me what are the noises, or signs of a broken fly wheel?
I was driving, came to a red light, my truck turn off for the first time, struggle to turn back on, finally it does, put it on drive, and it shakes, than I loose power as in the motor is not moving the truck, the engine is still on... Try to turn it on, but I get a bunch of metal snapping noise.... Any advise on what to look for.. thanks to everyone for the info
