upper control arm shaft

has anyone ever changed a upper control arm shaft? mine needs replacing, so i took it apart last night and it seemed to be fairly straight forward. i have heard that you have to be very careful when assembling the new shaft, that there is a certain way to screw the shaft into the end caps, or the end caps onto the shaft,
whatever. as far as i can tell, there is only one way this assembly can go together. tighten one end cap, screw in shaft, then tighten other end cap, am i not seeing something here? seems pretty easy, but then again, it wouldnt be the first time i screwed up something easy, any help here would be great, thanks
