250/th350

So I been workin lil by lil on my 67 chevy c10 lwb. I have a l6 250 that came out of a 67 c10 stepper. the transmission I bought is supposely rebuilt and its a th350. Well I dont have anywere to put the kickdown cable. I was thinkin about giving the th350 to grandpa's 64 chevy truck. Should I go with another th350 but with a shift kit and will that not need the kickdown cable anymore? OR should I go with a powerglide? I believe a powerglide would of been used in a 67 and older? This will be my daily driver.
