Help with Van Tilt Needed

I picked a Van tilt up for 30 dollars yesterday. I was wondering how hard are they to make fit ? Can I just cut the wire's and put the original plug from my 72 on the van coloum ? The tilt coloum from the van is missing the gear pointer and fiber optic light does anyone know where to get a new one ? Oh and one last thing the bearing seemes loose. Can I get a new one at Gm ?

Thanks's.
