Project Freebird

My brother bought this truck back in '97. Bone stock, orange and white, high as hell. My brother started to drive about 40 miles to school everyday for bodyshop, and gas was just getting "too high" back in '98, so quickly sold it to my dad. Dad just turned around and told my brother to drive it and work on it and restore it. So since then my dad has been redoing everything on this truck. Three years ago I had to get rid of my '92 Chevy single cab for a baby wagon. Really sucks not having a pickup! Well my dad bought a brand new pick up and handed the keys over to me to the '70. Hince the name. I wasted no time making the changes I felt were necessary. Got rid of the tonneou cover, replaced the sliding rear window with the original single piece, swapped out the cowl induction hood for the original, changed wheels, swapped the later model steering wheel they had on there again for the original, and made it a little closer to the ground. All of this I have done for a total of $0 out of my pocket. Because with the truck came 16 years of collected parts as well. I started selling what I didnt want. Sold the pieces I was replacing off the truck as well. So as of now in this truck I have about $200 in tires (the other $200 in tires is courtesy of my dad because he didn't want to give me a truck with 2 bad front tires) and about $90 in an Impala steering wheel I decided to run. Freebird! Now im not counting the money iv put in gas and oil changes and maintence because I would of had to put that in some vehicle whether its this one or not. Much cooler driving this everyday rather that a stupid ass Jeep. I think this will make a pretty cool shop truck and get around towner...unless one of you have a panel truck or suburban you've been thinking about trading
Tell me what you guys think!
