Help needed to rebuild a steering column

I went the junk yard several time this last week and finaly found two steering columns, the first one is a 74 c20 van column, and the second one it a 68 c10 column, first off Im not sure which one to use, Iam leaning towards the 68 but I will have to shorten it up to fit me in the truck, but the 74 column is shorter but I will have to make / fab a intermediate shaft, I did find one out of a 3/4 ton late c10 with power steering which is what Iam putting into my 3/4 65 so I think that the rag joint will fit. So my question is which is the best to use? the 68 or the 74 both have no key I have tried to find bearing for the 74 but cant seem to find them it will have to be rebuilt it worn out, but so will the 68. Does anyone know where to find the bearing or rebuild kits. I called brothers trucks but they couldnt tell me for sure which bearing to used on the 74 column. Any thought would be great.
