After lurking for many months, I finally joined about two weeks ago. Just got our '71 Cheyenne LB back on the road. My wife's uncle bought the truck new for use as a farm truck, but he passed away the next year. His wife pretty much just drove it to the Piggly Wiggly once a week after that. My wife was in the truck one day when her aunt was pulled over for going too slow. We inherited the truck about twelve years ago and it's been sitting in our garage ever since. Started it about once a month to keep it running.
Needless to say, the truck's in pretty good condition. Still has the original chalk marks in the engine compartment. Options include 350-4v, auto, front disks, A/C, PS, and PB. Everything including the original AM radio still works. Problems include a dinged up dash where a thief tried to hotwire it, some minor door dings, and some tiny dots of rust showing up over the rear wheel well. She's got new tires and wheels, and now I can't get enough of driving her. I've been kicking myself for waiting this long, but life get's real busy sometimes. You must be really bored if you've gotten all the way to the bottom of this dissertation. Regardless, thanks to all who run this site. I've learned a lot. -Dave |
