BOAT cam in a truck? Opinions please.
I have been looking to replace the tired 425 Olds in my 3/4 ton. One of the rods is making a noise and telling the others that he is longer than them. I like the Olds power, economy and reliability not to mention the truck is already set up for Olds.
I have found a replacement Olds engine for a reasonable price. It was built for a jet boat though. I don't really know much about the boat cams except they are used in apps that turn 4500 r.p.m. for extended periods of time and make good vacuum down low. Would/could this be good in a truck app??? Should I just go back to the small block Chevy and be done with it?? Thanks in advance for all opinions.
