Stripped Door Hinge Nut
One of the top hinge bolts on my driver's door is stripped. The door doesn't hange right and the stripped bolt many be contributing to that. I would get a smaller diameter bolt and a nut and fix things that way, but there isn't enough room to come in from the inside to hold the nut while I tighten the bolt.
I think the only alternative I have is to drill out the bolt hole and tap the hole for a larger diameter bolt. Is that what you all do? What size bolt and tap would you all recommend? If you have any other solutions to this, I'm listening and would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks! Roy Bob 72 4 x 4 Stepside - original owner |
