1st Gen 350 chevy in 61 apache bracket questions

Were putting a 1st gen 350 chevy (with 64 327 heads please note this as there are no mounting holes on the front of the heads)in the 61. A few questions. Were going to add power steering, and I know that the pump is located low on the drivers side. Which side should the altenator be mounted on?
The motor was in the truck, with the altenator mounted high on the drivers side.
On my 64 C20 with a 350 the altenator is on the passenger side?!?
Thinking of heading to the local yard to see what kind of brackets I can come up with. These are easy enough to blast and re-paint. Plus I may find some misc parts for the power steering pump.
Any help or pics are appreciated.

Glenn
