Starter motor on a 66 i6 250 - how easy to recon?

Hi folks was just wondering if anyone can help me out please.

The starter/solenoid is sticky in my truck and I have to persuade it every now and then with a few taps!

I'm wanting to pull it out and give it a once-over myself and see if I can clean it all up and hopefully remedy the issue as its fine apart from the odd sticky moment.

Is there anything I should watch out for?
Any hidden parts that will fly out once I pull the case off?
Is it a pretty easy job to do if you have some mechanical knowledge?

Thanks in advance.
