driveshaft help/?'s..

So my new crossmember is in, gm crate motor and 700r4 in place.

My truck has the original 2 piece driveshaft

Do I shorten the original drive shaft near the end that connects to the tranny

Or do I swap in a 1 piece driveshaft out of something else that is the correct length?

Appreciate the help, I figure somebody else swapped in a 700r4 and has been there done that
