Temp Sensor

Hi all,
I ordered part numbers ATM-2259 and ATM-2277 from Summit and have installed them. The gauge started to read the temp but then goes kinda haywire and jumps around a bit. Also, when I turn the truck off it sticks in place untill I turn the car on again. Did I use a wrong part or something?

Thanks,

Ben
