Eli's 56 Chevy 6400

First Build And Write Up. I Bought This Truck In April 6 2013. I Wanted To Do A Truck From My Dad's Birth Year. And Found This At The local Junk Yard. Believe It Is 6400, Had No Emblems But It Did Have A Sun Fade On The Fender.

This Is What I Know About This Truck: It Will Cost Me Quite A Few Pretty Pennies To Finish. Very Few People Build These Monsters. It Was An Old Water Truck. It's Missing A LOT Of Parts. Someone Cut A Hole In The Floor. I'm Not Replacing Any Sheet Metal All Panels Are Solid With About 2 Or 3 Holes In A Place Of Two(I Will Repair To The Best Of My Ability), Nothing Major In My Opinion.

My Plans For It Is To Make It Into A Trailer Puller, That Is Reliable, For New Projects And Whatever People Need To Move. I Want It To Look Original, But have Personality.

So Far...
I Bought A 85 Chevy Something (305, Three Speed)( I Guess The Next Project) To Do The Cab Swap But I Decided Against it. The Original Frame Is STAYING. I Like It's Size. Looking At 3500 Duallys To Be The New Donor Truck. Possible 4x4 To Get A Straight front Axle and 454, Maybe, We'll See What Happens. Going TDY From Sept To Dec 6(Air Force Reserves Training) To Texas, So I Sprayed Primer On The Cab To Keep It From Further Rust(Sits Outside). Cleaned And Sprayed The Hood And Inner Fenders.

If You Want To Know How Much I Paid To Do This, I Am Keeping A Tally Of Everything (Numbers Are Part Price And Shipping). I Always Wanted To Know What People Actually Put Into Their Builds. And As You Can See, It Has Been Picked Apart And I have Lots Of Things To Buy. I Buy Mostly Everything Of Ebay, And Craigslist (Easier To Get The Price Lower).
The List:
450 The Truck
130 Two Doors (1 Cancerous Other Fine Both Mostly Complete)

Truck In The Junk Yard

First look At The House.

Inside

Just Cleaned And Cleared. Pretty Much No Metal Work. Gives It Character.

Inner Fenders

Ran Out Of Primer And Didn't Feel Like Getting More
