OT:Emissions questions regarding the readings on a particular car
ok on my taurus which i will be driving when i start my truck swap project here soon.i now have some questions regarding its emissions readings.it will be registed at my dad's po box in northern arizona where they dont require emissions so i wont have to spend a bunch of money on the car(more money for the truck-woohoo).basically i want to know what could be the cause of the following readings to be so high.here goes the results
equipment or pressure inspections gas cap-pass evap components-the paper says there inaccessible-wth does that mean-the inspector is blind and cant see but next to that it says ok-im stumped on this one. emissions inspections results hydrocarbons(hc) in grams/mile-vehicle reading 2.05 applicable standard 1.00-car failed there carbon monoxide(co) in grams/mile-vehicle reading 25.09 applicable standard 12.00-car failed there oxides of nitrogen(nox) in grams/mile-vehicle reading 2.88 applicable standard 2.50-car failed there im not going to run it through emissions for now as i said b/c it would cost more money than im willing to spend right now-it would cost me in total like 5 or 6 hundred dollars to get it to pass the emissions test here.please give me some idea of what components and/or systems are at fault so i can at least repair the major items.the car runs now as it is but it doesnt run properly so i want it to at least run better so it dont give me fits for the time i have to drive it.thanks in advance guys.
