Re: 67 c10 2wd to 4wd

Welcome to the site first of all, we are glad you are here. There are tons of info on this swap and many other things to help you on the way on your truck project. First things first. You need to ask and answer some questions of yourself.how bad do you need the 4whhel drive? Is it a need or a want? Two totally separate things. Do you have the tools needed to do this kind of major undertaking? Do you have the skills needed to take on this massive of a project? If you answered no to either of the last two, then my next question is Are you kin to or friends with someone who is able or has the tools/place to do this type of project. This is gonna be a project of the size I am not sure your completely aware of. First thing in may be the easiest to take the truck down to the frame just so you can get to everything easier. The motor needs to come out and of course the trans. Then the front suspension and crossmember. Then when you have the new stuff found you will have to have it all cleaned up when your ready for mock up.
You had asked about the square body 4x4 stuff it will work as far as the running gear, some have used the frames in a bind but be aware that the mount that hold the cab are different heights and may have to be moved to make everything line up right. that is another issue where the experiance won't scare you, but then again maybe youth won't either. I am not a Big 4xguy[ but the tags on my shirt say 4xl if that helps]but like most on here we will be glad to help a brother out and if there is anything I can do to help or advise holler. Jim
