Help with charcoal canister removal...Pretend I'm stupid...

I'm new to this truck and am starting my "water rebuild". New everything to go with water flow. Noticed this charcoal canister and read I can remove it with no problems.

Can someone tell me/show me what to do with the lines...EACH one to clean up the bay??

One hose comes from driver side valve cover vent to canister.(do I plug this or what)
One hose from canister to base of carb.(ditto)
One hose from canister to gas tank along frame. (ditto)

I have a 71 original setup.

Thanks
