72 half ton 2wd to 73 3/4 ton 4wd?

Im sure this has probably been answered here before if so i am sorry. Ill try to keep this short. My elderly neighbor gave me her old 73 3/4 ton gmc flatbed 4wd to me a couple weeks ago for free runs and drive fine but the body is beat. I found a 72 half ton 2wd with no rearend or front susp, but it has an awesome patina on the original paint which i can get for cheap. My question is could i put the 4wd rear and front setup from the 73 onto the 72? Ive seen a few threads about putting the 72 body onto a 73 frame but not just swapping the rear and front out. What do you guys think? More trouble than its worth or do able? Any help is appreciated! Chris
