Has anyone used TAPE on steel wheels to keep FULL WHEEL COVERS on ?
. . . .
From past experience, I'm trying to find a way to secure my "new-to-me" original PO1 wheel covers to the stock wheels on my 70 C-10. I've lost several in the past, even though they had to be really "hammered" on with a rubber hammer. ( I'd like to keep from getting dents all along the edge of these nice, 44-year-old wheel covers - and I'd also hate to loose one ) I've read that some people have used duct or electrical tape on the inner edge of the wheel where the tabs on the wheel cover push against to give it some extra GRAB. Has anyone used this technique . . . how did it work ? Is there another way to keep wheel covers on ? . . . . Last edited by Steve Hafner; 03-09-2014 at 06:25 PM. |
