A question about that harness in the middle of the firewall...
Hey guys:
I am restoring a 1979 Scottsdale SWB with the usual 350-4bbl. When I got it, it had been modified with different carb, intake and valve covers, so a lot of detail items were missing and also, some of the wiring disconnected. On my truck and others like it I looked at in the junkyard, there is a small harness that exists roughly center of the firewall, about a foot above the distributor with 2 green wires. That harness extends out several inches, then there is a black plug connector. After the plug-in, part of the harness goes to the A/C compressor, but what the other wire does is a mystery. On my truck it was cut, and on a harness I got to repair it, everything on the top of the engine was gone, so no help there. The only thing I can think of on that engine that would require power is the idle-kickup solenoid on the carb. Am I on the right track? Thanks! |
